Top Scots strengthen Leeds side
Leeds Tykes have strengthened their bid for Zurich Premiership safety next season by signing the Scotland internationals Stewart Campbell and Gordon Ross. Campbell, the 30-year-old second rower, joins the Headingley side from Italy's Benetton Treviso while 24-year-old fly-half Ross signs from Edinburgh Reivers.
The Springbok captain Bob Skinstad, has been disciplined by the South African Rugby Football Union after he leapt to the defence of his younger brother, who had been assaulted in a nightclub on Saturday.
A statement on the official Sarfu website said: "We, as a management, want to make it clear that we do not condemn the action of any individual who acts in defence of a family member. However, given the player's association with the Springboks and the team code of conduct, we cannot condone or ignore the fact that one of our players was involved in an off-the-field altercation."
The 25-year-old has been replaced by Corne Krige as captain of the Springboks against Samoa this weekend, but that change was made before the nightclub incident.
