Handre Pollard’s late penalty ensured South Africa prevailed 19-16 in a tense semi-final over Wales to advance to the Rugby World Cup final.
After a tense start where both teams exchanged points, Damian De Allende smashed through three tackles to go over and give the Springboks the advantage.
But Josh Adams replied in the corner to validate a bold call from Alun Wyn Jones to take a scrum from five meters out, rather than kick the points.
But the ice cold Pollard’s late penalty from a tight angle edged the contest and set up a mouth-watering final against England.
