Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The two winless teams of Pool C will be fighting for their first victory, with Namibia going for their first in the World Cup and Tonga looking to bounce back from defeat to Georgia.
It’s a big game for…

Weird stat…
16. Both teams have lost 16 World Cup matches in their tournament lives. Namibia have only had a national team since 1990 and Tonga have managed to claim six victories.
Remember when…
Deysel scored against the All Blacks. It was only last week, but this is the try of a career for one young player. As no footage of the single previous contest between these two sides can be found, it is worth looking over how Desyel scored his try.
Player to watch…
Johan Deysel. The 16th player to score a try for the Namibians in a World Cup match, which averages one per match. Deysel, the North West University centre, will forever remember scoring against the All Blacks but throughout the game, he was a thorn in the New Zealander’s sides.
