Scotland know their Rugby World Cup hopes are on the line when they take on Samoa in their second Pool A match at the Rugby World Cup, with Gregor Townsend's side unable to afford a second defeat in the competition.
Having lost their opener against Ireland 27-3 last Saturday, the Scots know that back-to-back losses will all but end their chances of reaching the quarter-finals by the halfway point of the pool stage.
Townsend has responded to that loss by making five changes, with a new back-row unit in Magnus Bradbury, Jamie Ritchie and Blade Thomson selected.
Samoa meanwhile are looking to build on their opening victory over Russia, though they are of course without suspended duo Rey Lee-Lo and Motu Matu'u after they were handed three-week bans.
The victory could hand Scotland a way back into the mix to top the group, but it would require them to win their remaining three matches – starting with Samoa – and needing to beat Japan in the final pool game of the competition.
Here’s everything you need to know for the match.

Prediction
Scotland 25-20 Samoa: Scotland should deliver something of a response to last week’s shocker against Ireland, and the nine days’ rest will have helped compared to Samoa’s week-turnaround. However, results between these two sides tend to be tight, and on the grand occasion of a World Cup clash, this should be no different.
