This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

The second round of the 2016 Six Nations comes to a close today as England travel to Rome to face Italy in Eddie Jones' second game in charge as head coach. A win for England would catapult them into first place and that will be the only acceptable result for Jones seeing as England have never lost to Italy in their past 21 meetings.

Yesterday's action saw France beat Ireland 10-9 before Wales ran out as 27-23 winners against Scotland in a hard fought game at the Principality stadium.

  • Italy vs England kicks off at 2pm
  • England make three changes with Mako Vunipola, Courtney Lawes and Ben Youngs coming into the side
  • Italy's only change comes at fullback with Luke McLean replacing David Odiete
