Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Following Friday night’s curtain-raiser between Ireland and Wales, it’s the turn of Scotland and Italy to begin their Autumn Nations Cup accounts, with Gregor Townsend’s side looking to build on what was a very promising campaign that ended on a high with their first victory on Welsh soil in 18 years.
There will be a particular focus on fly-half Duncan Weir, who steps into the No 10 shirt for the first time since 2016 in the injury-enforced absence of Finn Russell and Adam Hastings after they were both injured in the victory over Wales two weeks’ ago.
In total, Townsend has made four changes to the team that finished the Six Nations with a flourish, while Italian counterpart Franco Smith makes just two changes from the side that suffered a 34-5 defeat by England a fortnight ago.
Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s match.
