From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Ireland take on Georgia in the final group game of the Autumn Nations Cup in something of a dead rubber with the visitors likely to be playing for nothing but pride in Dublin on Sunday afternoon.

With England nine points clear at the top of Group A, Ireland cannot surpass Eddie Jones’s side at the summit and thus cannot qualify for next weekend’s final. As a result, it looks highly likely that Andy Farrell’s side will finish runner-up in the pool, unless Georgia can pull off an unthinkable upset with a 28-point victory that would not only see them drop behind Wales in the table but also likely see Georgia move up to the heady heights of second.

Should Ireland secure an expected victory, they will confirm their place against Scotland next weekend at the Aviva Stadium in a play-off for third place, with Group B already finalised after the Scots were handed a 28-0 walkover victory over Fiji due to their coronavirus outbreak within the squad.

Despite the match very much being a dead rubber beyond the most stunning of upsets, Ireland head coach Farrell has expected against deploying an experimental side, although he does rotate the likes of Jacob Stockdale, Billy Burns and Conor Murray into the side to give fringe players a chance to impress.
