London Irish prop Alex Corbisiero and Gloucester wing James Simpson-Daniel have been added to the England squad preparing for Saturday's RBS 6 Nations clash with Italy.

Corbisiero has replaced the Wasps loose-head Tim Payne, who has returned to his club for treatment for an sternum injury.

Simpson-Daniel linked up with the senior squad as cover for Nick Abendanon, who is struggling with a toe problem.

Like Lawson, wingers Max Evans (dead leg) and Nikki Walker (knee) also sat out training but are expected to be fit for the weekend.
