From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Wales have made 11 changes for what will be Warren Gatland's 100th match as an international coach against Tonga at the Millennium Stadium on Friday, with Newport Gwent Dragons wing Hallam Amos making his debut and Ryan Jones replacing Sam Warburton as captain.
Injuries have forced Gatland's hand to some degree, with centre Cory Allen and wing Scott Williams both ruled out following injuries picked up in the 40-6 win over Argentina on Saturday. But Gatland has been true to his word of rotating his fly-halves, with No 10 James Hook making his first start for Wales since June 2012.
Luke Charteris starts alongside fellow lock Ian Evans, who returns following an Achilles problem.
Dragons wing Amos, 19, is the only uncapped player in the starting line-up but stand-in captain Jones said he was confident his inexperience would not be a problem.
"He's playing alongside George North and Leigh Halfpenny so it's just a case of getting out there and showing what he can do," said Jones.
