This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Harlequins have announced the departure of their South African international forward Gary Botha.

The former Springboks hooker will make his final appearance for Quins in next Saturday's Guinness Premiership clash against Bath.

Quins and Botha, who has been at the club for two seasons, have mutually agreed an early release from his contract so he can return to South Africa with his family.

Quins head coach John Kingston said: "I am very saddened to see Gary departing us for South Africa.

"He has been an integral part of the recent success of Quins. Equally, the club understands his situation, and were happy to facilitate his return back home."

Botha, 27, added: "I have enjoyed my time at Quins, and it is with a heavy heart that I will be leaving.

"I would like to place on record my gratitude to Quins for agreeing to my situation and allowing an early release from my contract."
