Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

A four-try blitz from Bath just before half-time proved to be enough to guarantee the West Country side a top four place as they beat Wasps 31-17 at Loftus Road. Bath managed to take control 15 minutes before the break, as Eric Peters cantered home. Tries from Ieuan Evans, Adedayo Adebayo and Jeremy Guscott quickly followed. Wasps fought back in the second half with tries from Jon Ufton and Paul Sampson, but Bath were able to hang on for the win.

Fly-half Mark Mapletoft snatched a dramatic 24-22 injury time victory for Gloucester with a penalty at Northampton. He struck in the third minute of time added on after England fly-half Paul Grayson appeared to have done just about enough for Saints with all their 22 points.

Leicester cruised to a comfortable 55-16 victory at Sunbury as London Irish rested virtually the whole of their first team ahead of Wednesday's play-off first leg against Rotherham.

Richmond ended the season on a high with a comfortable 40-28 victory against Sale who were reduced to 14 men after David Erskine was sent off, a sixth straight win enabling them to finish fifth in the Premiership.
