From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

CHRIS CHESTER will make a speedy first-team debut for Wigan in tonight's match at home to the London Broncos.

Chester, who was signed from Halifax as part of a pounds 140,000 deal only two weeks ago, is included among the substitutes after impressing in his first game in the Alliance team last week.

Also in the squad after recovering from knee surgery is Brett Goldspink, whose move in the opposite direction to Halifax has, for the moment, broken down.

His fellow Australian, Mark Reber, has been de-registered by Wigan to make room on their overseas quota for Gavin Clinch, another signing from Halifax who is awaiting his new work permit.

Reber will be out for most of the rest of the season with a broken arm but is under contract for next year, when Wigan plan to return him to their import quota.

Terry O'Connor and Jon Clarke are both rested from the side to meet London, who are definitely without the hamstring victim Martin Offiah and may also leave out another former Wigan player, Shaun Edwards.

Edwards has been suffering from dizzy spells as a result of a blow to the head in the victory over St Helens on Sunday and could miss a chance to play against the club at which he spent the first 12 years of his career.

London have stayed in the north since the weekend in order to minimise the wear and tear of travelling, and they hope to have John Timu back in their side after a groin injury.

The Super League leaders, Bradford, have a lengthening injury list, including their teenage scrum-half Paul Deacon, for their visit to Huddersfield. The home team could be without their captain, Bobbie Goulding, while Warrington, away to Wakefield, give a debut to their 18-year-old forward, Ian Sibbit, in place of Dean Busby, who has a suspected broken hand.

Warrington will also be without Ian Knott, banned for one match for a reckless high tackle. Huddersfield's Matt Sturm has been suspended for three games for a deliberate high tackle.
