ASCOT'S Queen Elizabeth II Stakes is set to provide a showdown for Europe's milers. The highlight of the Festival of Racing on 24 September has drawn an outstanding entry of 32 horses.
Barathea (1993 Irish 2,000), Sayyedati (1993 1,000), Las Meninas (1994 1,000), Mehthaaf (1994 Irish 1,000), Mister Baileys (1994 2,000), Turtle Island (1994 Irish 2,000), Green Tune (1994 French 2,000) and East Of The Moon (1994 French 1,000) comprise a potent team of classic winners.
But they all have Distant View, brilliant winner of the Sussex Stakes, to beat as well as Grand Lodge and Bigstone.
