Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Selfish: Becoming very useful and put up a career-best effort to beat Wannabe Grand at Glorious Goodwood despite a troubled passage. Concedes weight all round but may improve again over a mile.
Susu: Wintered in Dubai and should come on for reappearance third to Pink Cristal at Ascot on soft ground. Lightly-raced mare from a top stable.
Out Line: Twice a winner at Goodwood this term, showing plenty of determination. Hampered when fourth at Ascot latest but now faces a stiffer task.
Rich In Love: Yet to win beyond seven furlongs and has struggled to recapture a decent second to Presumed at Lingfield back in May.
Sweet Pea: Came from last to first in a slowly-run race at Haydock recently, showing improved form. A very consistent filly, particularly on softish ground.
Barafamy: Off the course since disappointing in Italy in May having earlier finished a remote third in the Musidora Stakes at York. Back in trip.
Capistrano Day: Boasted smart form in the spring, finishing fourth to Wince in the 1,000 Guineas, but faded tamely behind Selfish at Glorious Goodwood.
Etizaaz: Created an enormous impression when winning at York and then finishing second at Newmarket last season and became a strong winter fancy for the 1,000 Guineas. Makes a belated reappearance.
Rose Of Mooncoin: Off the course since last season when beating the subsequently much superior Wannabe Grand at Newmarket.
Conclusion: Selfish has to concede weight all round following her Goodwood win. ETIZAAZ, who looked potentially top class as a two-year-old, is the selection.
