Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Diamond White: Back in handicaps after a last in a Listed event. Earlier flattered when third to Chester House at Sandown.

Punishment: Inconsistent and well beaten last two starts since fair third at Newmarket in May.

Brilliant Red: Back to his best last time, beaten a head by Lonesome Dude over a mile. Just as effective at 1m 2f.

Let It Rain: Highly tried but not disgraced when finishing fifth to Tough Leader on Derby Day.

Fredora: Progressive, runaway Salisbury winner last time, albeit in a weak contest.

Another Time: Winner of this last year and now races off a 1lb lower mark. Signs of a return to form at Sandown recently.

Conspicuous: Sixth to Monsajem at Epsom without showing much sparkle. Rather long in the tooth.

Lady Rockstar: Prolific winner who just failed after an interrupted run at Sandown last time.

Praetorian Gold: Just failed to catch Bering Gifts at Folkestone (Another Time third), only to cut little ice next time at Chester.

Zurs: Beat Mutadarra at Sandown last month and the runner-up won next time. Starts slowly and needs a strong gallop.

Flag Fen: One-paced third in amateur contest last time.

Conclusion: BRILLIANT RED came back to form last time and is just as effective at this trip. Last year's winner, Another Time, looks to have been laid out for this.
