They should finish in that order again but Foil Stone may be thwarted by FITZROVIAN, a wide-margin winner on his only start this year. His trainer, David Loder, is running into form and this representative was considered good enough to be given his sole juvenile run at Ascot last summer, where he had Muwafik comfortably in rear.

3.10: STORITHS has always promised to make make up into a smart sprinter and showed that the potential is still there when returning at Newmarket last month to be just touched off by Master Planner, with several of today's rivals beaten there. Bill Watts's colt had not raced since last July and should be sharper this time. The Chester winner Royale Figurine and the former smart juvenile Poker Chip have both shown good form this spring but have done their winning over the minimum distance. Castlerea Lad, fifth when Poker Chip ran third to the rejuvenated Double Blue at Newmarket last month, is edging back into the form which landed three sprint handicaps in the first half of last year.

3.40: The 1,000 Guineas failures Prophecy and Dance To The Top line up to redeem their reputations in this Oaks trial, the last-named rejoining issue with Hawajiss and Spot Prize who finished behind her in what now looks a poor Ascot Fillies Mile last September. None of them may cope with the progressive BABY LOVES, who has won this season and whose form with Lady Fairfax gives her the beating of these on Guineas running.

4.10: Bit On The Side and Beaumont have both gained soft-ground successes this spring, but will not be as well suited by today's going. The third recent winner in the field, DOUBLE ECHO, proved his liking for the distance and surface at Newcastle's Bank Holiday meeting and even under a penalty is still 6lbs lower than when taking a handicap over this course last year. Miss Pin Up would be nailed on at her best but has not looked to be at her sharpest for some time.
