Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

2.55: LINNEY HEAD represents a yard with a strong hand of potential Derby contenders this season and can give John Gosden a hat-trick in this race, following Pollen Count (1992) and True Hero last year. This lightly raced colt has followed a similar training pattern. Khamaseen is hard to assess, but must be feared along with Overbury, a colt being widely touted for Epsom.
3.30: Beneficial, Blush Rambler and Prince of Andros will no doubt collect decent prizes this season but are at a disadvantage with the race-fit DEL DEYA here. She proved herself up to Group Three class at Newmarket, but taking too short a price would be imprudent. The recent record of favourites in this race is poor.
4.05: Richard Dunwoody's return to the saddle on FLASHING STEEL could be the key here. This Irish-trained gelding is a big, rangy type who needs to be presented with great skill at his fences. They struck up a winning partnership at Cheltenham in December and now the champion jockey takes the mount for the first time since then. Opposing Antonin has proved expensive this season, but a further hike in the weights for a Cheltenham Festival victory could just put this prize beyond the grasp of this improving young steeplechaser.
4.40: CAJUN CADET was an odds-on failure two weeks ago but steps up from six furlongs to a mile today and a sharper performance is certain. Michael Stoute's Green Crusader looks to have been fairly treated by the handicapper.
