Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

CHELTENHAM

2.25: After trying to match strides with the powerful galloper Monsieur Le Cure on his last two outings, taking on today's more modest oppposition should come as a relief to CRYSTAL SPIRIT. Bogged down at Aintree, today's fast ground should help his cause.

3.00: MAD THYME is just about the best maiden hurdler in training having failed to get his head in front in 15 attempts over the last three seasons. Placed efforts behind leading novices Top Spin and Corrouge this year give him every chance at today's weights. Butler's Twitch is improving fast and has a clear chance too.

3.35: The most recent effort of TRI FOLENE, when tailed-off at Aintree, does not appear encouraging but she was hampered early on and could not get up with the action thereafter. Amateur-ridden when third at the Festival, she will benefit from Richard Dunwoody's handling. Along with Windy Ways, she is suited by fast ground.
