Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

1.10: POTENTATE has won seven times over hurdles on this course and may prove equally prolific over fences here. He was an easy winner over two miles when tackling fences for the first time at Plumpton two weeks ago and looks sure to stay this longer trip.
1.40: Front-running MISS ORPHAN showed in France that she could cope with soft ground and this tough filly will be very hard to peg back. She had much more in hand than the official 16-length verdict would suggest at Ascot last month.
2.15: The 1998 Grand National winner, Earth Summit, is 18lb higher in the weights than when winning this prize a year ago. But the 10-year-old is so tough he will still make a fight of it. Mud-loving Dom Samourai is another proven at this distance - but the 8-1 available this morning for FIDDLING THE FACTS looks the best bet. This seven-year-old can reverse Hennessy Gold Cup form with Eudipe.
2.50: Time may show that EXPLAIN THIS had a near-impossible task when second to Premier Generation in a novices' handicap at Cheltenham last month. He was upsides the winner when blundering at the final flight, so did well to be beaten only two lengths. This looks a much easier race.
KEMPTON
1.15: Nicky Henderson carried all before him here on Saturday, and he can keep up the good work with AMOROSO. A mistake three out cost this sister to the smart Sharpical her chance against Tom Paddington at Cheltenham and she came home in her own time. It is easy to see her reversing placings with New Bird, who was tuned to the minute for his debut.
1.45: The early-season form of SIMONS CASTLE has worked out particularly well and his Sandown effort behind Polar Prospect hinted at better to come over a longer trip.
2.20: If DATO STAR can avoid the sort of mishap that has frequently blighted his hurdles career, he should again have the measure of French Holly.
2.55: LANCASTRIAN JET is a chaser on the way up and he has more scope for improvement than chief rival Dr Leunt.
LEOPARDSTOWN
1.30: There has been no mistaking the confidence behind NICK DUNDEE on his chasing ventures. He looked to have the measure of Inis Cara before his costly last-fence blunder at Gowran Park, but lived up to the hype at Clonmel and should go from strength to strength now.
2.40: FLORIDA PEARL scarcely broke sweat over fences last season and it is a fair bet he will be right on song for his comeback. He jumps like an old hand, and his pace may be too much for Suny Bay over this trip.
