NEWMARKET

2.05: Godolphin's newcomer IFTITAH, who is out of a mare who won over today's trip, is reported to be a bit special and the stable had a juvenile winner on the course yesterday.

ooo

2.35: Mudeer might well make it a quick double for Godolphin now that he is dropped in class after taking in a couple of Group One events in France. But the longer-priced TRIDENT appeals as a colt who can improve again after his win from Ghalib at Ascot. He overcame bad ground that day and was also having his first taste of action for five months.

ooo

3.10: ALWAYS ALIGHT is the type to do well in Listed company after his game performance to land the Ayr Gold Cup. He will be raring to go after a good showing at York last Saturday and the booking of Kieren Fallon takes the eye. Ho Leng showed loads of pace in the same Ayr dash when racing on the unfavoured side of the course and has every chance with the big weight pull. Shmoose is the pick of the younger brigade and she did nothing wrong in defeat at Chantilly on her belated reappearance.

ooo

3.45: John Gosden can usually be relied upon to have end-of-season winners and his SUDDEN SQUALL fits the bill nicely for this nursery. He came good from 17 rivals at Lingfield a fortnight ago and still looks attractively weighted with 8st 8lb. There was a valid excuse for Fair Flight's defeat at Doncaster after his two wins and he should carry his big weight with distinction, while Song `N Dance Man is probably better than his form figures suggest and his trainer is used to bagging classier prizes than this with his youngsters.
