Racing: Handsome Ridge in Prix d'Ispahan field

HANDSOME RIDGE was among the acceptors for the Group One Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp on Sunday. Others include Docksider, Generous Rosi and a Godolphin quartet, Altibr, Kabool, Muhtathir and Mutamam.

El Condor Pasa, the top class Japanese runner, is expected to begin his European campaign in the race. The Japan Cup winner worked well yesterday at Chantilly.

Croco Rouge, third in the Prix Ganay on his seasonal debut, spearheads the six French acceptors at the first forfeit stage. The others are Lone Bid, Gold Away, Renazig, Loudeac and Insight.

Mother of Pearl is among nine acceptors for the French Oaks trial, the Group One Prix Saint-Alary, on the same card.

Two Japanese horses are among 59 entries for the pounds 165,000 July Cup to be run at Newmarket on 8 July. Trainer Hideyuki Mori has entered Agnes World and Dojima Mutaki, who seek to follow in the footsteps of Seeking The Pearl, in attempting to gain a Group One success in Europe.
