Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Danoli is out of next Sunday's Hennessy Cognac Cup at Leopardstown and possibly the rest of the season after knocking himself while walking on the road. The Grey Monk, who is still recovering from a cold, is also out of the Leopardstown race.

Tom Foley, Danoli's trainer, said: "We might have to leave him for the rest of the season and hope to get him back next year."

Gordon Richards said of The Grey Monk: "I would like to see him back on song before running him again but it wouldn't worry me going for the Cheltenham Gold Cup without another run." The Grey Monk has been eased to 8-1, from 6-1, by Ladbrokes for Cheltenham, with See More Business, so impressive at Cheltenham on Saturday, cut to 6-1, from 7-1. He was available at 12-1 before Saturday's success. David Nicholson's Zafarabad is 7-1 favourite, from 8-1, with the same firm for the Triumph Hurdle after his Saturday win.
