Q&A: Same again feeling for Hibernian
Q. I notice Brighton's line-up for the opening game at Swansea did not seem to differ too much from the team in their final League game last term at Hereford. Has any team started the League season with the same line-up as the last League match of the previous season?
A. In 1923 and 1924, Hibernian reached the Scottish Cup final. The same team played - and lost (to Celtic and Airdrie) - on each occasion. The team (learned at my uncle's knee) was: Harper; McGinnigle, Dornan; Kerr, Miller, Shaw; Ritchie, Dunn, McColl, Halligan, Walker.
D Hayes, York
