The Forest manager, Dave Bassett, has agreed a pounds 300,000 fee with his Blackburn counterpart, Roy Hodgson, for the 26-year-old Northern Ireland international. Hodgson was forced to move for a keeper after John Filan, who is deputising for Tim Flowers, suffered a broken arm last month which will keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
The Everton manager, Howard Kendall, is trying to sign the Greek international striker Zissis Vrizas for pounds 2m. Vrizas, 22, played for Kendall during his short spell at Xanthi and is now with PAOK Salonika, who play Arsenal in the Uefa Cup later this month.
