ALISTER ALLAN, bronze medallist at Los Angeles and silver medallist at Seoul crashed from second place to 38th in the three-position rifle shooting.
Allan, 48, started brilliantly, with 399 out of 400 to lie second after the prone shooting. But he was left standing in the standing, section scoring just 361 to slide rapidly backwards. And a final 380 in the kneeling left him with a disappointing total of 1,140, well behind the personal best of 1,181 he set in Seoul behind Malcolm Cooper.
Gratchia Petikian of Armenia won the gold for the Unified Team, beating Bob Foth of the United States on the last shot.
