The women's 800 metres will feature the Unified Team trio trying to foil the world leader, Ellen Van Langen of the Netherlands.
In the men's triple jump the consistent Russian Leonid Voloshin is up against the Americans Mike Conley and Charlie Simpkins. The women's discus gives Cuba more medal chances, with Hilda Ramos and Maritsa Marten out to beat Ilke Wyludda of Germany.
