BRIAN REID, riding a Yamaha, led from start to finish here yesterday to record his second successive victory in the Junior TT. The day's racing was overshadowed by the death of the first competitor at this year's event, bringing the total number of fatalities to 10, writes Our Correspondent from the Isle Of Man.
Reid, of Ulster, finished 7.2 seconds ahead of Scotland's Jim Moodie. Moodie challenged over the last lap of the 37.73- mile Mountain Course but was unable to match Reid's speed.
Steve Harding, 36, was killed when he crashed his Yamaha on the second lap of the Supersport 600 race. Nine spectators have also died.
