The Vauxhall team-mates, James Thompson and Yvan Muller, had a mixed weekend here in the seventh round of the British Touring Car Championship.

Thompson finished second to Paul O'Neill in race one on Saturday while Muller fought back from fifth on the grid to finish third, but both drivers suffered engine difficulties in the evening race, which was won by Honda's Matt Neal, and did not finish.

Thompson, the champion, who now trails Muller by 13 points, was dogged by problems on the final lap of race two yesterday."I heard a noise on the penultimate lap and felt vibrations, and then the engine just left me," Thompson said. "I'm gutted, what more can I say? We ran a perfect pit stop and though I was carrying the extra weight, I still had Matt Neal well within my sights."

Neal's win keeps him third on 106 points, 57 behind Muller.
