Schumacher's tribute

Michael Schumacher insists he should not be compared with Juan Manuel Fangio even if he equals the Argentinian's record of five drivers' titles.

The German is confident of moving a step closer to matching Fangio with victory in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. But Schumacher said he could not comprehend how drivers in the 1950s and '60s raced at such speed in cars which were much less safe.

"The times Fangio drove in are not comparable to these days," Schumacher said. "What we are doing now does not come anywhere near it. If you see the way they drove, you really get concerned to imagine these guys were racing at speed in those cars because they were so fragile."
