Tom Lehman closed with a 71 yesterday to win the US Tour Championship at the Southern Hills course in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by six strokes and wrap up the money title, the best scoring average and the PGA of America Player of the Year honours.

Now it will be up to his fellow players to decide if Lehman will be voted PGA Tour Player of the Year. Brad Faxon hit a 68 yesterday to take second with 274. Steve Stricker claimed third with 275 after shooting a 65, while Britain's Nick Faldo chimed in with a final-round 68 but still finished 21 shots shy of Lehman, this year's Open champion.
