Rugby Union

The Wales and Great Britain rugby league scrum-half, Kevin Ellis, return to rugby union on Boxing Day when he makes his debut for Maesteg against his former club, Bridgend. Ellis, who is out of contract with Warrington while awaiting the start of rugby league's Super League season in Australia, has been cleared to play in friendlies for Maesteg.

The Saracens flanker, John Green, could miss the rest of the season after damaging medial knee ligaments playing for Irish Exiles last week.
