Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

TWO of Great Britain's major successes in the Barcelona Olympics, Hounslow's Jon Potter and Teddington's Jason Laslett, will be in opposition tomorrow in the Royal Bank of Scotland HA Cup final at Milton Keynes - a repeat of last year's final, which Hounslow won 3-2.

Having already won the PizzaExpress National League, Hounslow will be attempting to become the first team to complete the league and cup double.

Teddington, assured of European competition next season, will be looking to reverse last season's result when they conceded three early goals. Their second-half fightback then will give them encouragement. Their manager, Neil Campling, said: 'We know what to expect this year and our key young players are a year more experienced. We were three goals down before we settled last time.'

Teddington expect to be at full strength while Hounslow will be without their captain, Simon Hazlitt, who injured his hand in the European Cup Winners' Cup at Easter, as well as the reserve defender, Guy Fordham from the England Under-21 squad, who will be playing for Kingston Grammar School in the Youth Cup finals in Birmingham.

Hounslow: J Barrow; M Williamson, S Hobson, P Bolland, G Swayne, D Hacker (capt), J Potter, J Rees, N Gordon, R Thompson, R Crutchley.

Teddington: G Meredith; M Riley, D Cross; J Wallis, J Laslett (capt), T Colclough, M Le'Huray, J Royce, P McGuire, J Hauck, A Billson.
