The photo was taken after the Spaniard teed off on Thursday and epitomises the mercurial character of the 51-year-old.
But out of respect for his opponents, Jimenez never smokes his cigar when teeing off but, as seen, it’s never far from his side
Despite his evident creativity, Jimenez looks unlikely to make the cut at St Andrews, currently sitting four under par, four shots off the projected cut and 13 off the lead.
Nonetheless, he’s continued to delight fans and managed to sink an eagle putt from off the fifth green in what was undoubtedly the shot of the day.
