Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, who were targeted by American jibes earlier in the week, inspired Europe to a relatively comfortable Ryder Cup victory on Sunday after an early scare at Gleneagles.

The likes of Victor Dubuisson and Jamie Donaldson were on fine form as the Europeans lifted the trophy for the eighth time in ten contests.
