From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Presidents Cup is getting underway on Thursday but the build-up has been centered around a discussion that has followed the sport for months - LIV Golf.

As the Presidents Cup is a PGA Tour event the players involved in the Saudi-backed LIV cannot compete in North Carolina. This sees both teams without some of the sport’s biggest stars and the International captain Trevor Immelman has spoken about the impact.

“LIV has been challenging, there’s no doubt about it,” Immelman told Golf.com. “But there’s not too much I can do about it.

“These players need to make their minds up and decide what’s best for them and their future. You have players who left, and I absolutely respect that.

“But on the other side, you also have players who decided to stay. From my side, as captain of the Internationals, the 12 that pitch up in Charlotte are the 12 that wanted to be there, and those are the 12 that I want to be there.”

But who is in each team and how can fans watch? Here’s all you need to know.

When is it?

The tournament will run from 22-25 September at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How can I watch?

The entire tournament will be shown on Sky Sports Golf or it can be streamed on their app Sky Go.

If you’re not a Sky customer you can grab a NOWTV Day Pass here to watch without a subscription.
