From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Jordan Spieth takes a three-shot lead into the second day of the Masters after a stunning performance on Thursday saw him card an eight-under-par 64.

21-year-old Spieth will take a three-shot lead into Friday's action, with a pack of four attempting to chase him down in the form of Ernie Els, Justin Rose, Jason Day and Charley Hoffman.

Rory McIlroy will be in the penultimate group to head out onto the course, where he will restart his challenge to secure a career major Grand Slam on one-under-par, seven shots off the lead but with plenty of time to make up the gap.

And Tiger Woods will look to build on his 73 on Monday as he continues his comeback form injury, having shown a resilience in his game despite things not going his way.
