Alison Nicholas hit seven birdies for a superb 67 in the third round of the Hennessy Cup at Refrath in Cologne. The Yorkshirewoman finished at nine under par on 207, to lead by two strokes from her Solheim Cup team-mate Pam Wright. Malcolm Gregson won his first event, in his first full season on the PGA European Seniors Tour, with victory in the Tandem Open at Stockley Park. Gregson hit 69 to win by one stroke ahead of the Irishman Liam Higgins, who also scored 69, and John Morgan, winner last week of the Northern Electric Seniors, who shot 65, the lowest round of the tournament.
