From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Britain's Laura Davies fired her third consecutive five-under-par 67 to cruise to a four-stroke victory in the LPGA Chick-Fil-A Charity Championship in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Davies, last year's leading money-winner, became the first player to capture two events this season after winning the Standard Register/PING in March.
"I putted well all week," she said. "I've made more than my share. You don't win unless you can putt because there is such a high standard of golf out here."
She held a one-stroke lead over Dottie Mochrie after completing her second round in the morning, and then had an eagle at the third hole to open a two-stroke cushion over Kristi Albers early in Sunday's final round.
Davies hit three successive birdies to close the front nine and had a bogey at the 10th hole, before adding pars at seven of the final eight holes for her fifth victory in the last two years.
