THE Senior British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes saw its second disqualification in as many days, after Tony Jacklin's expulsion on Wednesday for handing in an incorrect card in the first round.
Yesterday it was James Allred, of the United States, who was apparently unhappy at the idea of finishing a second round which was going to be even worse than his opening score of 82. He decided not to putt out on the 18th green.
Bob Charles, the title holder, took over the lead after the second round. The left-hander went round in 69 for a five-under-par total of 139. Two strokes behind him are Doug Dalziel, who returned a 66, the lowest round so far, and Tom Wargo.
