WWE Smackdown results: Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns reunite to take on former Shield partner Seth Rollins ahead of Extreme Rules
The WWE World Heavyweight champion was unable to escape his former stablemates

Seth Rollins started the show by saying that he's glad that Randy Orton attacked him on Raw as that means that he has relieved all his anger from his system ahead of their Cage Match at Extreme Rules. Kane interrupted Rollins by telling him that he needs to start respecting him as he's the one who's the gatekeeper during his upcoming title match. The Director of Operations then said that Rollins needs to lay down for him just like he did himself a few weeks ago on Raw.
Kane ordered a referee to start the match and demanded that Rollins laid down for him or he will reach down his throat and rip his guts out. Rollins caved in to Kane's orders and laid down, to which Kane laughed and said he's just messing with him. Kane concluded by saying his actual opponent isn't as reasonable as him as he faces his former partner Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose headed to the ring for the match but Luke Harper followed him as the two go head to head on Sunday. Rollins joined in for a beat down till Roman Reigns ran down to make the save and land a Superman Punch on Harper.
The first official match of the night saw Dolph Ziggler and Neville team up to take on Sheamus and Bad News Barrett. Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on Barrett while Neville tagged in. Sheamus dragged Ziggler out of the ring to beat down on him but Neville wasted no time and climbed the turnbuckle. The Man That Gravity Forgot landed the Red Arrow on Barrett to seal the win for his team and continue his buzz since his debut.

Naomi took on Natalya as she looked to gain some momentum ahead of her Divas Championship match against Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules. Naomi injured Paige a few weeks ago on Raw to take her number one contender slot and continued to show intent in this match up. Natalya went for a Clothesline but Naomi dodged and responded with the Rear View to set up a pin for the victory. The number one contender was not finished as she aggressively kicked Natalya to finish off her celebration.
Ryback and Rusev locked arms in a battle of the powerhouses. The two had a long stare down before grappling where Rusev drew first blood. Ryback went for a Powerslam but the Russian rolled out of the ring to grab the the steel chain and attack the Big Guy with it. Rusev wouldn't stop and repeatedly attacked with the chain before wrapping it around Ryback's face and locking in the Accolade. Lana handed Rusev his medal as Rusev looked proud of his message that he sent to John Cena ahead of their Chain Match at Extreme Rules.

New Day made their way out to the ring for Big E to state that there is a plague in the WWE Universe with a wave of negativity and lack of clapping. Xavier Woods then took over the microphone to state that Cesaro and Tyson Kidd haven't embraced their positivity but to have no fear as New Day is here.
Kofi Kingston concluded that when New Day become Tag Team Champions, the fans can finally return to clapping. Cesaro entered the ring and was joined by Kidd as the two looked to get the upper hand ahead of their title defence against New Day on Sunday. Big E delivered an overhead belly to belly Suplex to Kidd outside the ring, which distracted Cesaro. Kingston took advantage of the chaos to hit the Trouble in Paradise for the win.
The main event saw Ambrose finally get hands on Rollins and Harper by teaming up with Reigns in a tag team match. Harper and Rollins dominated over Ambrose for most of the match with the help of J&J Security until Reigns finally tagged in to shift the momentum.
Harper was hit by a Samoan Drop while Rollins received a Powerslam. Reigns signalled for a Spear on Harper but Rollins offered a brief distraction for Harper to hit two side kicks to the face, which Reigns managed to kick out of.

Reigns also kicked out of flying knee from the turnbuckle by Rollins before tagging in Harper. Rollins and Harper showed great teamwork with a turnbuckle Powerbomb and Discus Clothesline double team, which Ambrose managed to stop the pin for. Ambrose hit a diving elbow on Rollins, Harper and J&J before Reigns finished them off with the Spear. The win proved Ambrose is ready for his Street Fight with Harper on Sunday while Reigns once again showed Big Show how he can be the last man standing.
