WWE Raw results: Randy Orton goes on a rampage ahead of his WWE Championship shot at Extreme Rules

The show kicked off with Randy Orton entering a steel cage to address his upcoming match with Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules. The Viper said that he will run Rollins' skin into the steel till every bone in his body is on fire to become to next WWE Champion. Rollins then cut Orton short to tell him that he can make all the threats that he wants but he won't be walking out at Extreme Rules with the title and that is a promise. Orton then responded by saying that he will go backstage and RKO every man he will see before finishing with Rollins before the show ends.

The first match of the night saw Dean Ambrose take on Luke Harper but the contest turned into a straight out fight with the two ending up brawling in the crowd. The two ended up being the victim of a double count out before Harper went for a Powerbomb off the stage, which Ambrose reversed out of. This rivalry will continue till Extreme Rules where Ambrose will be looking to finally get revenge on the former Wyatt Family member.

The action continued with Lucha Dragons took on New Day in a tag team match. New Day have been showing a change of character over the last few weeks with them being fed up up negative crowd reactions. The Lucha Dragons jumped to he outside onto Kofi Kingston and Big E for the referee to start a count down. Xavier Woods grabbed Sin Cara'a legs to prevent him from entering back in the ring as Kofi rolled in to win via count out to become the number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships. Orton ran down to the ring to RKO Kofi and Woods as his rampage got underway.

Fandango entered the ring to his old theme music to take on Curtis Axel. Fandango made quick work of the man behind AxelMania by hitting the Last Dance within two minutes for the ring. There was no Rosa Mendes with the dancer who showed a new leaf with the fans who were firmly behind him.

Triple H spoke about the upcoming revival of the series Tough Enough but he was interrupted by Kane who was gave the COO his two weeks notice of being Director of Operations. Rollins stormed down the ramp to tell Triple H that they don't need a loser like Kane anyway, which the veteran responded by saying that he is a spoilt little punk who has been handed everything. Triple H said that enough was enough and that Rollins should learn to get on the same page as Kane fast as he will be the gatekeeper in the steel cage match for the Architect reluctantly shook Kane's hand.

Naomi took on Brie Bella in an attempt to earn a shot at Nikki's Divas Championship following the injury of Paige. Naomi was victorious with the Rear End as Nikki stared from ringside at her potential contender. With Paige out of the picture, Naomi will likely get her shot sooner down the line with her change in attitude

Bo Dallas interfered with Roman Reigns' promo, which only infuriated the powerhouse. Reigns returned the nuisance by cutting Dallas short with a Superman Punch and a Spear to the delight of the crowd. Reigns said that if Big Show had any guts he would be out in the ring tonight but on Sunday at Extreme Rules, he will be the last man standing. Reigns ended his statement by telling the crowd that they can "Bolieve that".

Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Zack Ryder one second after the bell rang but did not go for the pin right away. Sheamus instead beat down on Ryder whilst talking on the microphone by saying there's no fun in ending the match so quickly. Dolph Ziggler finally ran down to save Ryder for Sheamus to win via disqualification. The two will lock arms in a "Kiss Me Arse Match" at Extreme Rules, where Ziggler will be looking to get his own back following Sheamus' beat downs since returning.

Kane challenged John Cena to his United States Championship following the leader of the Cenation's open challenge. Kane dominated over Cena with his frustrations at the Authority evident over throughout the match. The Devil's Favourite Demon went for the Tombstone Piledriver to finish the match but Cena countered into an AA to retain his title. Cena celebrated as he diverts his attention to his Russian Chain Match against Rusev this Sunday.

The Miz took on Mizdow in a rematch from last week's Raw where Mizdow got one over his former partner. This time Miz won the match thanks to Summer Rae who raked the eyes of Mizdow for Miz to follow up with the Skull Crushing Finale. Orton ran down to the ring to land another RKO on the night, this time on Miz who just won the right to keep his name with that win.

Ryback made quick work of Adam Rose with the Shell Shocked to earn the victory. Following the match, the Big Guy gave further Shell Shocks to the Exotic Express before celebrating with the fans. Rosa Mendes accompanied Rose during the match following her dumping from Fandango.

The main event of the night saw Rollins take on Ziggler as the two looked to go into Extreme Rules with winning momentum. Ziggler was in control until Sheamus distracted the Show Off for Rollins to win with a new DDT variation finisher. Kane came down to the ring to get his heads on Rollins who continued to verbally abuse him throughout the night but the cage lowered to protect him from the attack. Orton however managed to sneak into the ring just before the cage fully lowered to deliver his promised RKO to Rollins as the show closed.
