Over the past eight months, players, coaches and administrators have all had plenty of airtime, but now the ever-popular rugby league podcast is making the supporters the star of the show. Friendly banter and old rivalry comes to the fore as we gear up for this weekend's two matches which will determine the Super League Grand Final line-up. The Independent's Dave Hadfield is also on hand to offer up his opinion on the latest action, while there is a complete round-up of the week's top news from your Super League clubs in 'Stop the Press'.

Podcast 63 (22 September): Garry Schofield, Ray French, Mike Stephenson and Robbie Hunter-Paul guest star in the latest bumper edition of the PROBIZ Tryline. Schoey talks about finally collecting the Golden Boot at last week's Albert Goldthorpe ceremony - a prize he should have received 21 years ago - and his disappointment at the lack of involvement from former players in and around the England setup. French and Stevo give us their views on the play-offs as well as the impossible task of trying to please everyone as commentators, while Hunter-Paul, who picked up a career achievement award - talks about his impending retirement and the changes he has seen in the sport over the years. Podcast 62 (15 September): Rangi Chase, Garry Schofield, Tony Smith, Jermaine McGillvary and Steve McNamara are just some of the big name guests who are appearing in the latest PROBIZ Tryline. All five were in attendance at the Albert Goldthorpe Awards dinner at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium on Tuesday to receive or hand out the honours. It's fair to say, we were spoilt for choice who to speak to, and because of that, we have split the show into two parts with the likes of Ray French and Mike Stephenson to come next week. As ever, there's a look back at the last round of Super League as the regular season reached a conclusion, but the Independent's Dave Hadfield isn't finished yet as he looks ahead to the action taking place this weekend in the play-offs.

Podcast 61 (9 September): Huddersfield Giants and England star Eorl Crabtree is the latest special guest on the PROBIZ Tryline as the regular rugby league season heads for a conclusion. However, the action won’t be over after this weekend for Crabtree and his team-mates are they prepare to embark upon Super League’s play-offs. The 28-year-old is one of the sport’s more colourful characters and topics discussed in this edition range from female referees to the prospect of drinking a few pints once he retires! And if that’s not your ketchup, we also chat about his famous wrestling relative who was a “big” star in the 1970s and 80s tussling with the likes of Giant Haystacks. Podcast 60 (1 September): In this episode of the programme we speak to veteran Super League star Keith Senior, currently out of action for Leeds Rhinos due to an anterior cruciate ligament. The former Sheffield Eagles Challenge Cup winner reflects on his current employer's latest defeat in the Wembley showpiece and how that could affect the Rhinos for the rest of the campaign as well as giving an update on his rehabilitation. Senior also passes on his views about Super League Licensing and gives a definitive answer as to his future involvement in the game when his playing career is finally over. We also hear from The Independent's chief rugby league writer Dave Hadfield with his views on the Carnegie Challenge Cup final and the upcoming Super League action as well as the latest news from all the Super League clubs.

Podcast 59 (25 August): The latest edition of the PROBIZ Tryline drops the spotlight on Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup final between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors. Opposing coaches Brian McDermott and Michael Maguire give us their views on the big game at Wembley, along with experienced duo Rob Burrow and Paul Deacon. Burrow is desperate to help the Rhinos' lift the trophy for the first time in 11 years after several near misses in the last decade including last season's 30-6 defeat to Warrington at the same venue. However, his former England team-mate may have something to say about that as Wigan return to Wembley for the first time in 13 years with Deacon aiming to win the competition for the third time in his career. Podcast 58 (18 August): Former Great Britain scrum-half Sean Long is the latest special guest on the PROBIZ Tryline. The 34-year-old, who started out with home town club Wigan, before going on to serve St. Helens with distinction, is gearing up for the next chapter in his career after being forced to retire as a player with Hull FC due to persistent injury trouble. Long is now widely tipped to take up a coaching role at Salford, which he virtually confirms without saying it during this edition of the podcast. The three-times Lance Todd trophy winner also reflects on some of the highs and lows of his career including the betting scandal that saw him making the headlines for all the wrong reasons back in 2004. He looks back at last weekend’s Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals which eventually ended with Leeds and Wigan being paired at Wembley in a final at the end of the month. Podcast 55 (28 July): Following Crusaders' shock decision to withdraw from Super League, this week's PROBIZ Tryline takes in the views of the game's decision makers and gets the verdict from the press. The PROBIZ Tryline was at the announcement at Old Trafford where the RFL made its decision to award 13 clubs a Super League licence for the next three years, along with Widnes. Wakefield Trinity Wildcats received a reprieve while the rugby league community at large were left stunned by Crusaders' announcement.

Podcast 48 (8 June): England coach Steve McNamara joins his Exiles counterpart Brian McClennan in the latest PROBIZ Tryline to look ahead to Friday night’s first ever International Origin match at Headingley. The two men will be explaining their team selections and sharing their hopes for the concept in the long-term. McClennan also reflects on three years in charge of Leeds but virtually rules out the possibility of a return to this country in the future after returning home to New Zealand. The former Bradford, Huddersfield and Salford favourite is planning to retire from the game at the end of the season and he is aiming to go out on a high in a Championship Grand Final with Leigh Centurions. It would be a fitting end to a career which has seen success everywhere he has played. Robbie discusses his career in detail but also proves to be a thoroughly entertaining listen as the conversation wonders off into the weird and wonderful including his failed attempt at becoming a rock star and his secret skills that would serve him well in a beauty parlour! Podcast 45 (20 May): Former Warrington, Leeds, and Bradford favourite Iestyn Harris is our latest special guest in this edition. Podcast 43 (6 May): Sheffield Eagles head coach and chief executive Mark Aston guest stars in our latest edition of the PROBIZ Tryline on Challenge Cup fourth round weekend. Aston knows what it takes to be a winner in this competition have won the Lance Todd Trophy for his performance in the Eagles’ historic final victory over Wigan back in 1998. It’s hard to imagine ever seeing another cup upset on that scale any time soon as the gulf between the Super League clubs and those outside the top-flight appears to be widening. Realistically no one will give his Championship team a prayer against St Helens on Saturday, but then few did on that memorable day at Wembley 13 years ago. However, Aston’s ultimate aim remains to return the Eagles back to the big time, albeit as the new club carrying their old name.

Podcast 41 (21 April): Courageous, spirited, inspirational and determined are adjectives bandied around all too easily in sport. But they can certainly be applied without hesitation to our latest special guest Steve Prescott. Steve’s world was turned upside-down in 2006 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer. The former Hull and St Helens favourite was even told he wouldn’t get to see his children grow up. However, his fighting qualities as a player are serving him well in life as he has since raised thousand of pounds for charity through the Steve Prescott Foundation. His latest challenge will see him embark on a gruelling cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in just nine days. He also remains deeply passionate about Rugby League.
