From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. NRL side New Zealand Warriors beat the Melbourne Storm 28-14 on Sunday but what will be remembered is Nathan Friend's outrageous pass leading to a try.

The 34-year-old caught the ball mid-air where he was accidentally tipped by Kenny Bromwich which led to him falling from behind.

Nevertheless, the hooker's athleticism came into play as he actually managed to pass the ball back to Shaun Johnson mid-backflip, through his legs, and still landed on his hands and feet.

After the halfback got the ball back he immediately passed it to Sam Tomkins who switched it to Tuimoala Lolohea, who went over for a try in the corner.

This excellent show of athleticism made Fox Sports commentator Andrew Voss say that this "may be the greatest piece of gymnastics rugby league you’ve ever seen.”

This is a definite candidate for not only the best try of the year, but possibly the best try ever.

Do you think that was the best try ever? Let us know in the comments' section below...
