Mason fined for urinating outside hotel
Sydney Roosters star Willie Mason has been fined A$2000 by the NRL club for urinating outside a Sydney hotel on Saturday night.
Mason was photographed relieving himself on the wall of the Golden Sheaf at Double Bay and was called to a disciplinary committee meeting today.
The former test star was stood down for one week earlier this season for drinking alcohol in contravention of the club's guidelines.
The Roosters decided to fine Mason A$2000 today and donate the money to Father Chris Riley's Youth off the Streets programme.
He will also have to participate in the club's work with the homeless.
"Willie expressed his disappointment with his actions and acknowledged the lack of common sense used in this instance," said the club in a statement.
"He also apologised to the sponsors, members and fans of the club as well as the publican of the Golden Sheaf."
