Salford must rethink their recruitment for next season after Brad Drew opted at the last minute to join Huddersfield instead.

The City Reds, who will finish next to bottom of Super League, had agreed the terms of a one-year deal with the Wakefield hooker, only to be told yesterday that he had decided to rejoin his former club.

"We are devastated," said Salford's director or rugby, Steve Simms.
