Cunningham set to lead Saints on record run

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Saints have dominated Warrington throughout the summer rugby era, winning all 14 home games against them, and another win today will take their winning run this season to 18, beating their own record that they set in the 1996 season.
The game will be Keiron Cunningham's 300th in Super League and he is on his way to putting right one of the anomalies of his career this season by being named as Man of Steel.
For the first time, that award will be voted on by Super League players, which only helps Cunningham's chances of winning the accolade.
A previous double winner, Paul Sculthorpe, is looking likely to sign a two-year deal with Salford, who return to Super League next season and yesterday announced the signing of South Sydney's Kiwi half back, Jeremy Smith.
Sculthorpe, who will leave Saints at the end of this season, also has an offer on the table from Wakefield, who are interested in Hull KR's Paul Cooke, but not if it means sacrificing the two players Rovers may want in exchange, Ryan Atkins and Brett Ferres.
For the clash with Warrington, Sculthorpe is missing again with a hamstring niggle, but Nick Fozzard is set to return after a long absence.
"It's like having a new player," said Saints coach Daniel Anderson.
Fourth placed Warrington, with seven wins in eight games under James Lowes, are without the Anderson brothers for the rest of the season, but have Paul Wood fit and ready to reappear after a long-term shoulder injury.
Wigan, who are at the Catalan Dragons in another game with profound implications for the play-off positions, have their own long term casualty returning in the shape of Paul Prescott. Michael McIlorum has served his suspension, but Gareth Hock is still kept out as he is serving a suspension.
The National Rugby League in Australia has succeeded in serving an injunction on Sonny Bill Williams, telling him that he will be in contempt of court if he plays for Toulon today.
Williams had been due to make his debut for the French rugby union side in a friendly, having walked out on the remaining four and a half years of his contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs.
New Zealand have named Williams in their preliminary 49-man squad for this autumn's World Cup, despite his apparent determination to switch codes. Only two players from Super League clubs are included, Wigan's Thomas Leuluai and Brent Webb of Leeds.
