From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Bradford Bulls have reacted to the broken arm suffered by prop Paul Anderson by recalling the young forward Richard Moore from his loan with the London Broncos.

Moore played seven times for London, whose coach Tony Rea described him as "a tower of strength" during his time at the club. He could go straight into the Bulls' squad for their home match against Wigan on Friday night.

The Wigan coach, Stuart Raper, has dampened speculation that he is set to drop players for their first meeting with Bradford since last October's 37-6 thrashing in the Super League Grand Final, despite being critical of some of them in the aftermath of Saturday's defeat to Leeds.

"Changing the personnel isn't always the answer," said Raper, who admitted to talking individually to several members of that team. "Those players have got us through a lot recently and they haven't become bad players overnight."

Four recent absentees – Jamie Ainscough, Paul Johnson, David Furner and Simon Haughton – could all be fit enough to be considered on Friday, but changes are likely to be kept to the minimum.

Rea has moved quickly to bring in another young player, Leeds' Academy hooker Jonny Hepworth, on loan. The Broncos coach said: "He's an exciting young player and will give us some nice back-up."

The Warrington scrum-half and captain, Matthew Rodwell, is considering whether to return to Australia or attempt to play again this season after a groin operation today. Rodwell is in the first year of a two-year deal at Wilderspool, but has recently struggled with the injury.
