From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The players at Bradford Bulls will receive their wages for this month in the next 24 hours, according to administrator Brendan Guilfoyle.
There had been fears that the cash-strapped Stobart Super League club would not be able to meet their financial commitments as they continue to look for a buyer.
But, while Guilfoyle does admit to a minor delay in the transferring of funds, he expects the players to be paid imminently.
He said: "We alerted the players to the fact that their wages might not be paid on time because our funding at the moment is coming from Super League (Europe). However, the players will be getting their wages today or tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Hull Kingston Rovers forward James Green and Castleford back Jamie Ellis will miss games with Wakefield and St Helens respectively this weekend after accepting one-match bans following incidents in the last round of fixtures.
