Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The big names here yesterday had a relatively easy day. Molesey's Jonny and Greg Searle and their Imperial College crewmates Jan Herzog and Richard Wearne will meet the Army today in the Visitors' Challenge Cup for coxless fours after taking out London RC with a well-judged push at halfway.

Luka Spik and Iztok Cop, the 2000 Olympic and world champions, progressed effortlessly in the double sculls and are on course to meet Britain's Matt Wells and Steve Rowbotham in tomorrow's final. The British crew meet Hungary's Zsolt Hirling and Tamas Varga, today.

In the Goblets for pairs, neither of the top crews was extended. Oxford's Paul Daniels and Barney Williams took out Harvard's spare men and today meet Plymouth ARC's John Rollason and Adam Gitlin. Meanwhile, the seasoned Goran Jagar and Nikola Stojic of Partizan Belgrade face Sam Pearson and Don Wyper of Jesus College and Goldie Boat Club.

Britain's world champion women's quad cruised home ahead of an Oxford Brookes and Newnham College combination.
