Britain's premier pair of Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell won the final Great Britain rowing trials in Belgium yesterday, although not without a few nervous moments.
Experimenting with a new strategy of cruising in mid-race, Cracknell and Pinsent were forced to change up a gear to stay in front as Toby Garbett and Steve Williams ran them close in the last 500 metres.
In the women's heavyweight trial, Frances Houghton beat her doubles partner Debbie Flood by a length, passing Flood in the second half.
Heavy and lightweight crews for the first international regattas in May will be announced on 30 April.
